When I look at advertising today, I believe that there is an issue: A lack of diversity in models. Even though a lot of beauty companies are starting to progress towards a more diverse cast, a lot of looks are still not enough or not at all represented.
I hope that advertising will eventually look more diverse because we all have something different to tell and present. Most importantly, The things that make us unique are the things that make us beautiful.
I choose to make my subjects undefinable because my goal is to show that love does not have any ethnicity, religion or orientation.
My red series was my first close up series. It was the beginning of my passion for texture. Back then, Red came to me as an inspiring color, it felt empowering to me, and this is what I wanted my photographs to be.
I know individuals that hate the color pink because of what it is associated with. But I choose not see pink as something only Girly.To me it is compelling. It is the color of flesh. I believe women are resilient like the color pink. With this series I gave pink a new meaning. The goal was to give the color that was always associated to women a stronger appeal.
